What are the requirements for the design files or artwork to be engraved?

Most of our clients provide their own design.

An Adobe illustrator file with all elements/layers separate and fonts embedded/packaged is ideal.

An .svg file is also acceptable. A vector file, .eps, or a .jpeg that is high res (resolution) will also work.

Black and white files work best. Anything in white is not engraved. Anything in black (or another color) will be burned by the laser. (The laser does not distinguish between shades of color.)

What do you charge?

Prices vary based on the item and complexity of the design to be engraved. After you fill out our contact form, we’ll send you an estimate.

We do charge a file set up fee on all jobs to cover the time it takes to prepare your file for production.

If you do not have an existing design, we can also add your logo and text to a basic template at no additional charge.

Or if you would like us to create a unique, custom design for you, we charge a fixed cost that includes one round of revisions.

What is your turnaround time for an order?

Depends on how many items and how complex your design is. And how many other orders are ahead of you. But generally speaking, we try to turn around orders within 1-3 weeks. If you have a time sensitive order, we can usually make it happen.

What type of wood can you engrave?

We work with Birch, Basswood, Cherry, Maple, Alder, or Walnut for most of our projects.

We include baltic birch in our standard pricing because it provides a nice contrast and is reasonably priced. We also always have birch in stock from a local lumber yard. All other wood must be ordered with the additional cost added to your estimate.

(Note the we can also engrave bamboo items from outside suppliers, but we don’t cut bamboo ourselves for our coasters or other items.)

Here is what the different wood types look like:

I have an item that I want engraved, but I don't know what it's made of. Can you do it?

Probably not. But contact us with more detail. We're sometimes willing to try a test.

Do you offer rush shipping? Do you ship internationally?

Yes, all shipping is done via FedEx or the United States Postal Service with no markup.

I want to do a live laser engraving event outside the United States, can I talk you into it?

Maybe. Depends on getting a machine there and cost.

Do you do bar & bat mitzvahs?

Yes. And mazel tov!

Are you single?

No. But we're flattered.
